    1. I have hiked the Inca Trail above 21,000 feet
    2. I was the first woman bass drummer in the University of Colorado Marching Band

    Drummer for the Indigo Girls

    Experiences of compassion, friendship, and ubuntu in South Africa have taught me that love and forgiveness have real power to heal–even in the face of evil.

  1. Hi Janie! What an awesome pic of you. Didn’t realize that you spoke Tshivenda, but then again, I should have remembered because you were in Zambia or was it Malawi…anyway, our part of the world – Southern Africa. I speak a little Nama/Damara, Otjiherero, Oshindonga/Oshikwanyama and picked up Afrikaans (though I tried to avoid it). Great being in classes with you this Spring and let’s keep in touch, my sister! Karla
