Every week, Loyola’s Facilities department receives a report that enables us to track our waste output from the university. Numbers are reported back to us in terms of weight and compares the amount of landfill waste and recycling that allows us to understand how well our recycling initiatives are working.
Each month, we are uploading a waste report that outlines our numbers for that month. We want members of the Loyola community to be able to see the difference they are making when they decide to recycle and compost!
Loyola currently disposes of waste in three main ways: recycling, composting, and landfill. Recycling and composting are our main sources of disposal; we only use landfill for items that cannot go into either waste bin (those items should be limited in amount!) Do you need more information about how to recycle and compost? Want to know about the landfill disposal process? Click over to those pages (under this tab) and learn more about the process here at Loyola!
