Parkhurst and Waste Neutral are working together to bring composting to Loyola! WasteNeutral is a composting company that has worked with other schools and organizations (MICA currently uses Waste Neutral for their composting initiative) and we’re excited to have them working with us at Loyola!
What can be composted?
- All foods! That includes meat and dairy! Because we are using a commercial composting company, we are able to compost many items that cannot be composted at home.
- The cups and take-away containers from dining services. They are made of special plastic that is made from corn. Please compost them!
What CAN’T be composted?
- Anything recyclable: normal plastics, aluminium… etc!
- Things that would normally go to the landfill (think styrofoam)
