1. Leaky faucet? Call maintenance at (410)617-2200
2. Take shorter showers – even if it’s only by a minute or two
3. Shut the lights when you leave a room
4. Set up a sleep timer on your computer
5. Turn off and UNPLUG electronic devices and chargers while you’re not
using them (TV, printer, cell phone charger, computer charger, toaster etc.)
6. Monitor the temperature in your refrigerator. If things are freezing, lower
the temperature
7. Shut the water while brushing your teeth and in between putting soap on
dishes and rinsing them
8. Consolidate loads of laundry and wash them in COLD water and let them
AIR DRY– wait until you have a full load instead of doing smaller loads of
laundry more frequently
9. Set the thermostat in your room to 68 degrees – if you’re cold put on a
sweatshirt instead of turning up the heat.
10. Purchase energy efficient light bulbs
11. When cooking, avoid opening the oven if you can, it decreases the
temperature by 25-50 degrees each time you do
